Terms of service

1. Acceptance of terms

GeoFC is operated by One Sideline LLC ("we", "us"). By playing GeoFC you agree to these terms, which form a binding agreement between you and One Sideline LLC. If you don't agree, don't use the service. We may update these terms at any time; changes take effect when posted here, and continuing to play after a change means you accept the new terms.

2. Description of the service

GeoFC is a daily trivia game: each day, every club gets the same five questions answered by pinning places on a map, scored by distance and speed. Free players can play one club per day; a paid plan unlocks every club and past boards. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, and boards, scoring rules, and features may change as the game evolves.

3. Accounts and eligibility

You can play without an account. To create one, you must be at least 13 years old. You agree to provide accurate information, keep it current, keep your password private, and accept responsibility for activity on your account. One account per person; usernames that impersonate others or are abusive may be changed or removed. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

4. Paid plans and payment

Paid plan fees are billed in advance, monthly or annually, to the payment method you provide. Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; the new price applies from your next billing period. If a payment fails, your account may be moved back to the free plan.

5. Cancellation and termination

You can cancel a paid plan at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep paid access until then. You can stop playing or ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraud or illegal activity, or pose a security risk.

6. Fair play and prohibited conduct

Daily boards are the same for everyone, so the game only works if everyone plays it straight. You agree not to:

• Share answers before the day's board closes, or use another account's results to play.
• Use bots, scripts, or scrapers to play, or manipulate the clock or your connection to gain time.
• Create multiple accounts to retry boards or manipulate leaderboards.
• Use the service unlawfully, attempt unauthorized access, disrupt the service, or harvest information about other players.
• Impersonate others or resell access to the service.

We may remove scores or accounts that undermine fair competition.

7. Intellectual property

One Sideline LLC owns the service, including its questions, scoring, design, and code. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of it without our written permission.

Club names are used only to identify the subject of trivia questions. GeoFC is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any club, league, or federation. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, with tiles served by OpenFreeMap.

When you send us a problem report, club suggestion, or other feedback, you grant us the right to use it to run and improve the service, without obligation to you.

8. Privacy

Your use of GeoFC is also governed by our privacy policy, which is incorporated into these terms.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the fullest extent the law allows, One Sideline LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold harmless One Sideline LLC and its officers, employees, and agents from claims and costs arising from your use of the service, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of others' rights.

11. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property or data security matters.

12. General provisions

These terms and the privacy policy are the complete agreement between you and One Sideline LLC about the service. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Failing to enforce a provision does not waive it. You may not assign these terms without our written consent; we may assign them freely.
